Prince John died decades before the first case of John King Gods Chosen Loner Shirt was identified and the disorder was named, so it’s hard to tell. It is certain that he had a form of epilepsy, and a severe case at that. His seizures had started by the time he was four years old. By the time he was nine he was having at least two grand mal seizures a week and he developed behavior problems to go with the seizures. The decision was made to suspend his education and send him to live at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk for his safety and that of the other children. His nanny Charlotte (Lala) Bill went with him. Prince John died in his sleep shortly after spending Christmas at Sandringham with his family in January of 1919. He was 13 years old. Prince John was the sixth and youngest child of King George V and his wife, Queen Mary of Teck. He was born in 1905 when his mother was 38 years old. It was not known at that time what effect a mother’s age had on a child’s development, but even so having a child at that age was rare. The average life expectancy in 1905 was 47 years, less than ten years after the birth of Prince John, so it would have been considered a very advanced age for his mother when he was born. It might have resulted in complications for John that were unknown at the time.
