As a bonus Christopher Robin I believe there are angels among us Eeyore shirtwould probably be admitted for schizophrenia or some other delusion-related disorder if he told people what he was up to. Come on he talks to anthropomorphic forest animals… Having said all that is there any merit to these diagnoses? No, none whatsoever, it’s a cartoon and it was designed specifically to showcase these extreme behaviors in different characters. Winnie the Pooh and his friends are all aspects of behavior found in ourselves, with each character showcasing one to the extreme. They try to teach kids about behavior, that Tigger for example might be fun but acting like that can get you or others in trouble, that looking for sweets all the time leads one to miss a lot, and that it’s ok to be afraid or sad but you can overcome this. A lot of mental disorders are existing behaviors, but in an extreme form. Cartoons tend to exaggerate certain aspects or traits, so you can diagnose a lot of cartoon like this.

Tigger isn’t very good on the emotional side of things — he hasn’t got the patience for it. What he has got in bucketfuls is energy to handle all the practical issues in life. On the onset of the depressions at the births of our children it ended up being him scrubbing floors, cleaning and folding baby clothes, cooking all the meals. Being Tigger he just goes and goes and goes. He’s not happy unless he is doing something, and we as a family benefit. If you love a Tigger, and he is clearly aware of your limitations, then I think you should go forward with dating. But I think you need solid support from a marriage counselor before marriage. If you can get at the bottom of what each of you really feels and how it would work, then you know where you stand. Getting into such a marriage is extremely hard work and the intimacy can be affected. As an Eeyore, I have been in psychotherapy for years. We don’t know why Eeyore’s are so depressed but there is a reason that can be found and worked on. Eeyore’s are slow to change, but when they change it is forever. Eeyore is growing through careful deliberation; he’s a thinker, not a ‘do it now’ person He has depth and wisdom to counterbalances Tigger’s exuberance
